Uses[]

The PSL was developed in Romania in the 1970's, and is widely sold in the world market. The simplicity of the weapon makes it easy to use and maintain, making it a very popular. The action, based upon that of the AKM, make the weapon extremely reliable.

In show[]

This weapon was tested against the US Army Rangers SR-25 Sniper Rifle in eliminating six targets (3 static, 1 moving commander, 1 hidden, and 1 counter-sniper) during a simulated assault on a communications post. The SR-25 completed the test in 1m and 48s, using 12 out of 20 rounds, while the PSL completed the test in 2m and 7s, using all 20 rounds. The edge was given to the SR-25 for its lighter recoil, faster completion time, and 20-round magazine capacity.

The shot that took out the commander was described by Dorian as a "Cyclops Kill", right between the eyes. The commander would be moving, flailing and brain dead, but the heart is still pumping. This would send chills to his men, making that an X-factor in psychological warfare.

Trivia[]

  • The PSL is very similar in appearance to the Dragunov Sniper Rifle, yet not one single part is interchangeable between the two weapons, including the magazine (even though the two weapons fire the same 7.62x54mm ammunition).
