The Garrote Wire is an improvised weapon often used for assassinations, a stealthy way to strangle. It was the Close-Range false of the CIA.

Description[]

The Garrote wire is simply that, a wire. However, a variety of other materials can be used, such as fishing line, guitar strings, piano wires, scarves, or telephone cords, among other things.

Uses[]

The Garrote wire is used to strangle one's opponent or cut into the neck, slicing through the carotid arteries. Because it is easily concealable, silent, and deadly, it is often used for assassinations in situations when a gun is not a suitable option. It is also possible to use a cloth garrote (such as a scarf) to choke out a target without killing them as a means of capturing them.

Test[]

This weapon was tested against the KGB's The garrote decapitated a gel torso but was determined to be heavily dependent on a surprise attack from behind. The edge was given to the shoe knife since it was more flexible and less disadvantaged than the garrote.

Trivia[]

  • The Garrote was also the weapon used for the winning kill in theCIA vs KGB episode, although it only scored one kill in the overall simulation.
  • A garrote was seen on the Mafia's table during the Mafia vs Yakuza episode.
  • In the Hernán Cortés vs Ivan the Terrible episode, it is stated that Cortés would use the Garrote to torture and interrogate captured enemies. In that episode Garrote was shown being used to torture captured Aztecs to force them to reveal the location of their hidden gold. Cortés used an older form of Garrote made of simple rope.
  • The manriki gusari was a chain weapon Ninjas used in ways similar to a garrote.
  • As seen in the Comanche episode, the Comanche War Club had a rope attached to it to strangle opponents like a garrote.
